This year, OJRHS Cheerleading will once again participate in competitive cheerleading! Below you will find current information regarding the competition season. As you know, the landscape is forever changing; we ask that you continue to be understanding and flexible as regulations change. 

Your coaches attended a virtual meeting discussing the status of PIAA District One's district competition. The original date of December 5th has been removed. The District One cheerleading head is proposing January 9th with a snow date of January 10th. The event location has yet to be determined. This date was presented to the PIAA board for approval on October 28th. Hopefully District One will receive a ruling and can move forward with this date officially! This post will be updated when we receive additional information.

Districts is a qualifying event for states. In the event we qualify for states, that competition will take place on January 29th/30th in Hershey, Pennsylvania (The Giant Center). There is a possibility for one or both of these events to take place virtually if it is deemed unsafe to proceed in person. It is presumed that spectators will be restricted for all events. 

As of now, we are awaiting information regarding the PAC Championship Event; this is the event that the cheer team competed at last year. If and when a date/location is determined, we will provide an update to you.

Practices will vary as we will need to coordinate with the winter basketball schedule. Competition team members should plan to practice 2 -3 days per week from 5 - 7pm. More scheduling information will be coming soon.

Winter season start dates have been updated. Because of this, we will be shifting our tryout dates. Tryouts have been rescheduled for November 30th and December 1st from 5 - 7pm in the "aux gym."

REGISTRATION: Prior to the start of the season, each student-athlete must be Registered on FamilyID,  submit a PIAA Section 6 CIPPE Physical Form, and have an up to date Baseline Assessment. Please follow this link to register on or before November 17th!

COMPETITION TEAM: If you are interested in being a part of the competition team, you must participate in winter or fall cheerleading. If you are still looking to qualify for the competition team, you will need to try out at our winter tryout.
